Participatory behaviour in music listening experiences is often limited; the selection of music to be played often lacks user participation. Even current methods for music selection that encourages user participation still have limitations. This book, therefore, provides a new method for a music service system, which aims at constructing a participatory music selection experience by allowing users to participate in selecting music for a public space. The proposed method is completely automatic, thereby not requiring a human DJ, while still employing a selection system that allows each user to suggest specific playlists. This system becomes possible through the use of mobile agents and personal mobile. Beside the agent-based architecture, this book also describes a selection mechanism and negotiation protocol for agents in generating a dynamic music playlist. In addition, the implementation and testing results are covered in the book. This book is for anyone who is in the music industry and/or interested in a new way of music service for their clients, or for people who is interested in applying mobile agents in a selection mechanism.
