This is a very nice universal remote. The difference between this and a traditional universal remote is that this remote allows groups. In simple terms it allows you to push one button and turn on your tv, dvd player, computer, tivo, dvr, and cable box all at once or in any combination. While the remote looks large in pictures it still fits comfortably is a small/womans hand. While the shape makes for a nice interface it also makes this a two handed remote. The width of the remote and the size of the screen make it very unlikely that you will be able to use this with just one hand. I am not completely convinced about the included software. While it allows for very easy access for setting up the remote there is little in manual overrides. I also do not like having to setup an account with logitech just to have access to program the remote. Every time you connect the remote it contacts logitech's servers. I find this quite intrusive and have no way of telling what information is being shared. All in all this a very good introduction to a touch screen universal remote. Just understand that this is the most basic model for its class and if your looking for more functionality like controlling lights, security, and many other non entertainment itmsm there are better, more capable, remotes out there.Vollständige Rezension lesen
This remote really replaces every remote pilling up on the coffee table. It controls every conceivable electronic device including projector screens and air conditioning units. The one touch activity button sets all devices connected with this activity to the proper setting so there;s n need to do anything to control up to 15 devices at the same time. It lowers the projector screen, turns on the projector & sets it at the desired input. Powers up the receiver selects the DVD input and sets the DVD to the play mode. With a single touch. It also turns everything off when needed with also a single touch. Price could be lower but it is reasonable. On- line set up takes about an hour but it is worth while. I still cannot believe that I do not have to go through 5 remote controls and eleven buttons to watch a DVD. Highly recommended.Vollständige Rezension lesen
love the color touch screen, 15 devices allows me to use 1 remote for every setup in the house, and activities make powering on/off simple. very easy to program simply by typing make/model of each component on pc. the only down side is that it is only ir, so will not control a ps3 as a standalone remote, but as there are currently no combo ir/bluetooth remotes on the market, that does not really detract from the remote. it is also possible to control the ps3 using this remote by purchasing an aftermarket ir remote for the ps3, which the harmony software links to and suggests during setup.
I am very disappointed in this remote. It was easily programed but it's operation is a royal pain! It will operated my TV, Audio system, Satellite, and DVD player. To give an example: Once the TV, Sat., and Audio are initiated, to choose a chanel you must go to the main screen and select the Sat. icon, scroll thru the menu until you find the icon that will select the channel menu. After you select you channel, if you want to control the volumn you must then go back to the main screen and select the Audio icon then you can adjust the volumn with the rocker swithes mounted on the front of the unit. A real slow process. But it does control all my electronic devices and is very easy to program. I have put it back in the original box and set it on a shelf in my storage room. So far this has prevented me from tossing it into the bayou behind my home. I am now using the individual remotes as I did originally and can surf, control volumn, etc. at least two to three times faster than with the Logitech 1000. Does it do what the manufacturer claims? Yes. Is it user friendly? No!Vollständige Rezension lesen
This is a really nice remote and operation is simple. The Harmony software seems to still have a few bugs to work out, but not so bad. My problem with the remote is that it doesn't come with the RF Extender so for those wanting a really nice setup with components without in-line sight, be ready to dish out at least another $75 so total you are looking at a pretty heft price tag. For the money, the remote just isn't worth it in my opinion. I have it now and am not getting rid of it, but I wouldn't buy another if something happened to it or I needed an additional remote. I also have a Monster AVL300 (same Harmony Software) and as remotes go, I would grade it out higher. It doesn't have a touchscreen or the screen resolution, but comes with the RF extender and can be found for about half of what the Harmony 1000 will cost you. In my opinion, second to the AVL300 would be the Harmony 890. It also comes with the RF extender. The reason I rank it behind the AVL300 is the design of the remote body. It isn't as comfortable in your hand and the buttons aren't placed as well. If Logitech would put the 890 in the body of their Harmony One, it would be right up there. So if you are in the market, I would first look at the Monster AVL300 and Harmony 890 before shelling out the cash for the Harmony 1000. While the Harmony 1000 is a nice remote, you can get better bang for your buck with the other two and be just as happy.Vollständige Rezension lesen
